[demo bike]
I had the Yukon 2 for a couple of months in winter of 2018–2019, including for the 2019 Fatbike Frozen Forty (see my race report). This was a super fun ride, both when paired with the stock Maxxis Colossus 27.5x4.50 tires and with Terrene Tires' Cake Eaters with studs [1].
The Yukon was really playful. Giant designed in sliding dropouts in the rear that I brought all the way forward to shorten the chain stays up a bit, leading to a little more nimbleness for the way I ride. It really felt like a mountain bike, not a big ol' truck.
About the only thing I’d change is that I wish the build I had included a dropper post, but then again, it was the lower-specced model. The Yukon 1 does come with a stock dropper.
